WAGENER, S.C.---A 15-year-old Salley teenager was ordered to remain in the custody of the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice by the Aiken County Family Court.

She appeared at court today for a detention hearing after her arrest by the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office for making threats at Wagener-Salley High School, in Wagener, South Carolina.

The teenager is charged with Threatening a School Official (two counts). She will remain in custody until another detention hearing is held. No date has yet been set.

“We have a zero tolerance policy regarding any behavior that disrupts the safe learning environment of our schools, so students should be mindful of making such threats,” said Sheriff Michael Hunt.

An ACSO school resource deputy arrested the student Tuesday morning at her home.

On Monday, the student, during several classes, stated her intent to carry out acts of violence at the school.

I still say it all starts at home.. The schools are not there to discipline your children. They are there to teach your children. Parents need to be involved in their chilrens lives and shools. Teachers are scared to death of students for this very reason... no discipline can be done in school now, like it used to be years ago... all a kid has to do now is "threaten to call DSS"... that's ashamed. I got disciplined many a time years ago by Principle J. O. Brown at A. L. Corbett middle school. I thank god that he had the power to do it..and my parents did again when i got home. I am a productive citizen and i have no children.. i wonder why??

This isn't a surprize to me because this same person had some of the classes that i had attended. Its sad how a low class school try to increase in curriculm and academic wise and they do something very dangerous. The same week this occurs there were bomb threat message coming from another school that is names HKT in Norway South Carolina. These messages were sent to Wagener Salley through Txt message. These message were very threating to me and my fellow classmate. The student that made this threat to wagener Salley is also enrolled in the JROTC program in which i'm dedicated to. I don't understand why would she make dangerous actions like this and which when she was expelled last year from A.L. Corbett Middle for vandalism of the school and when she vandalized the school, there were bomb threats mad. I hope she doesn't think this is funny because its not
