Deputies looking for man involved in Old Savannah Road shooting

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- Richmond County Sheriffs deputies responded to an injured person call on the 1700 block of Old Savannah Road, according to a release.

Deputies say they found the victim, 37-year-old James Geter, with a gunshot wound to the leg.

Geter told deputies a man who goes by the name of "Crusty" pulled out a gun and demanded money.

Geter told deputies the man hit him with the pistol, robbed him and shot him in the lower left leg.

According to a press release, the suspect ran away after the alleged attack.

Geter is being treated for his injuries at GRU.
