AIKEN, S.C. -- Investigators have made arrests in two robberies that happened in Aiken Monday night.

Jeffy Berry, 18, and Stephen Christensen, 43, were arrested in connection to the robberies on Thursday. Berry is charged with one count of armed robbery, while Christensen is charged with three counts of armed robbery.

Public Safety officers responded to the Petsmart store on the 2500 block of Whiskey Road around 9:40 p.m. in reference to a robbery. Officers say the victims were approached by a man who was armed with what appeared to be an assault rifle.

A short time later, officers were called to a Subway restaurant on the 700 block of Silver Bluff Road for an armed robbery. The items belonging to the victims from the first incident were found outside the Subway restaurant.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives R.A.G.E Unit assisted in the investigation.
