AUGUSTA, Ga. -- The man convicted of driving a getaway car in a murder from 2010 was sentenced on Thursday.
Judge John C. Brown sentenced Edwin Manuel Cruz to 20 years for the murder and two lesser charges. The sentence is being split between 10 years of confinement, followed by 10 years of probation with restrictions.
Cruz pleaded guilty to driving the getaway car after Deangelo Hudgins was shot and killed in July 2010.
Back in March, Erik Williams was convicted and sentenced for life.
A second military officer was also shot, but he survived.
The shooting happened at Sanctuary Apartments on Wheeler Road.
