NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. (WRDW) -- The South Carolina Highway Patrol says 2,763 citations were given out and 157 DUI arrests were made statewide this weekend.

Troopers in the Aiken/Orangeburg area netted 179 citations and seven DUI arrests.

St. Patrick's Day weekend was one of six DUI enforcement weekends, which will be held from now until August and target 19 key counties. The next enforcement weekend is April 19-20.

Troopers were stationed in the following counties:

• Troop 1: Lexington, Richland, Sumter
  
• Troop 2: Laurens
  
• Troop 3: Anderson, Greenville, Pickens, Spartanburg
  
• Troop 4: Lancaster, York
  
• Troop 5: Darlington, Florence, Horry
  
• Troop 6: Beaufort, Berkeley, Charleston, Dorchester
  
• Troop 7: Aiken, Orangeburg
