AUGUSTA, Ga -- Four days and fifteen tire shop burglaries and Richmond County investigators say the same man responsible for those is also responsible for two more this month alone.
Investigators say it's a mad grab for some quick cash and they think one man is behind all the break-ins; 15 of the 17 locations were all hit just in the last four days.
Right now his M.O. is auto shops. Many, as you can see, located on Gordon Highway, Peach Orchard, Wrightsboro Road, and Deans Bridge Road.
Richmond County investigators say every time his method is the same.
He breaks the glass at the shop, breaks into the cash register with a tire iron, steals the drawer with the money inside, and bolts out the door; all in a matter of 2 to 3 minutes.
"Best thing I can think of is he's been around them, he knows how the security is in them, he knows what response time. Two and half minutes in and out. Police substation right across the road, daylight, that's bold. Wouldn't you say? Let's catch him!" says Meineke employee Phillip Miles.
Richmond County investigators describe the suspect as a white male, 170 pounds, about 6 feet tall. He was last seen driving faded color 4 door car, a Buick or Oldsmobile, and a late 80's model. The car also has front end damage on the passenger side.
