STATESBORO, Ga. - 19 year-old Julius McReynolds was shot and killed Saturday night at Jackson's in Statesboro.

McReynolds was a former football star and 2006 graduate of Cross Creek High School.

He was visiting Statesboro for Georgia Southern University's Homecoming when an altercation turned deadly.

The county's coroner says McReynolds was shot three times -- once in the back, once in the leg and then in the ankle.

There's no word on whether Jackson's will be closed down. This is the third shooting at Jackson's since 2002 and the second homicide.

I was there the night of the shooting. Im very sad this happened to this young man. It would have been better if both of them would have been arrested after they fought inside the club that way they would have been in jail than to have him lose his life. His family is in my prayers.

He actually graduated 2006, we weren't the best of friends, in fact for the most part we didnt really get along but I never would've wished death on Mr. McReynolds, beyond our dislike for one another, I wish I could've told him i forgive him for our situation. When I heard my 1st thought was "Not juelz" he was one of those people you expected to hear about doing something big, One of few statements I remember him making in 11th Gr weight lifting was "My mom told me I was sexy this morning" he took great pride in that statement, so if your reading this Mrs. McReynolds he appreciated your opinion. My second thought was "I hope he was saved," and my third was how is Carlos taking this... Let this be an example to others if a conflict can be avoided please do so, if not more of us (African Americans) will continue this cycle of death... I guess death isn't as relevent to some until its someone you know... To Carlos: I'm truly glad it wasnt you, for your childs sake...
