HEPHZIBAH, Ga. - The corner of Patrick Avenue and James Drive is where 20 year-old Sylvester Walker was shot and killed Monday night around 8 p.m.
According to Richmond County Investigators, Donald Harmon has been arrested and charged with murder in the case.
Investigators say the problems started with an earlier shooting right around the corner on Ramswood Drive.
That shooting happened at Lawanda Taylor's home. She says Walker and Harmon shot through her window and they were aiming for her son.
"They shot two shots through my son's bedroom window," says Taylor, "that shot would've probably went straight through his head because his computer sits right there."
Taylor says she didn't waste any time calling deputies and filing an incident report. She says soon after the deputies arrived Walker and Harmon traveled to Patrick Avenue and started shooting again.
Sergeant Richard Roundtree says that's when Walker and Harmon began arguing and it quickly turned deadly.
"As a continuation of that shooting, the suspect and the victim got into a verbal altercation over the original shooting. The suspect produced a semi-automatic handgun, fired one round, striking the victim in the chest," said Roundtree.
The bullet killed 20 year-old Sylvester Walker. Lawanda Taylor says she's thankful her son wasn't hurt.
"If he had been in the room, and he just happened not to be in that room at that time, they would have killed my child," says Taylor, "He can't live here anymore. They tried to kill my son yesterday."
