DECATUR, Ga. (AP) -- Members of musician Kid Rock's entourage
testified that another Waffle House customer provoked them into a
fight at the suburban Atlanta restaurant.
Jurors also heard a recorded 911 call in which a Waffle House
employee says the musician started the fight.
Robert James Ritchie, better known as Kid Rock, and five members
of his entourage on Wednesday appeared in DeKalb County court,
where they face a civil lawsuit stemming from the October 2007
fight.
Harlen Akins claims the musician and members of his entourage
beat Akins up.
Kid Rock pleaded guilty in March 2008 to a misdemeanor charge of
simple battery.
The musician stopped at the restaurant following a performance
in Atlanta. The fight broke out after Akins recognized a woman in
Kid Rock's party and spoke to her.
