1 man dead, 1 in custody after Augusta shooting

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- One man is dead after being shot in the chest on Fayetteville Drive in Augusta Friday night, according to a press release.

When Richmond County deputies arrived to the scene, they found 27-year-old Lamar King with a gunshot wound to the chest. according to a press release. King later died at GRU.

The alleged shooter in the incident is in custody and being interviewed, but the Sheriff's Office said they cannot release the person's name.

The Sheriff's Office said no charges have been filed as of Saturday morning.
