AIKEN COUNTY -- A workers strike is underway at an Aiken County plant.

News 12 has learned Teamsers Local 509 walked out of Owens Corning at 3:00 this afternoon.

The company says the strike will not affect their customers.

The 509 is upset over contract negotiations. Jason Saragian, spokesperson for Owens Corning, says the company made a "fair and competitive offer."

Union members say they had been negotiating for a three year contract, but were unhappy with a proposal that would only give small raises and make major changes to the pension plan.
