BURKE CTY., Ga. – The Burke County Chamber of Commerce has announced a Vogtle Career and Business Expo to be held next week.
The Expo is for individuals and businesses who would like to learn about opportunities whether it is job or business related. It is being held at the Waynesboro/Burke Co. Campus of Augusta Technical College beginning at 5:30 p.m. on November 16.
There will be panel discussions with Southern Nuclear and Shaw Group managers beginning at 6:00 p.m. They will provide information on what kinds of jobs and services will be needed at Plant Vogtle.
"The goal of this event is to make the public aware of the job and vendor opportunities available at Vogtle in an effort to bridge the gap between those opportunities and area businesses," Roberts said. "Sometimes when so much is done online, it is hard to get a grasp of the full magnitude of what's available. Our hope is that this event gives individuals and potential vendors the chance to see these opportunities firsthand."
The Georgia Department of Labor and Augusta Technical College will also be there, in addition to other area organizations.
