ALBANY, Ga. (AP) -- Quail Unlimited, a nonprofit organization that promotes increasing wildlife habitat and boosting quail populations, is moving its headquarters from Edgefield, S.C. to Albany, Ga.
Quail Unlimited President Bill Bowles says the move came about after the organization, which has had financial problems, sold its headquarters building in Edgefield.
Bowles says Quail Unlimited's new headquarters will be 4,000 square feet, about a third the size of its old headquarters. He says most of the group's work is done in the field and the larger space wasn't needed.
Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital's Phoebe Foundation has donated eight acres of land for the new headquarters. Quail Unlimited will be using office space near the hospital as a temporary headquarters while its new building is constructed.
