Prison facility to begin taking applications this week

Monday, October 24, 2011

MILLEN, Ga. -- CCA, the company building the brand-new Jenkins Correctional Center, says official hiring will begin on Tuesday. They anticipate more than 200 positions in operations, security, administration, health services, inmate programs, maintenance and more.

The facility is a 1,150 bed facility and is expected to open in March of 2012.

"We expect Jenkins to be the best facility by anyone's standards," said Ralph M. Kemp, warden at Jenkins and longtime Georgia corrections professional. "Opening a new facility is always challenging work, but it will be very rewarding as well because our employees have the chance to offer an important service to their community and state at the highest level."

CCA will have a representative available on Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Georgia Department of Labor’s offices located at 856 Cotton Avenue in Millen. On Wednesday, they will be at the Georgia Workready offices located at 527 Barney Avenue from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The representative will be able to answer questions about benefits, applications and employment with SSA.

Applicants interested in careers with Jenkins Correctional Center can visit CCAJob.com, search "Careers," then choose the Millen, Ga., location from the drop down menu to see available positions. If applicants have any questions, they can email careers@cca.com.
