New Georgia call center could mean 750 jobs
BRUNSWICK, Ga. (AP) — Executives with GSI Commerce say a newly renovated 40,000-square-foot call center in Brunswick holds the potential for 750 new seasonal jobs.
The company, a subsidiary of eBay, handles telephone customer service for retail firms nationwide.
The Florida Times-Union reports that GSI Commerce celebrated the official opening of the call center Thursday morning.
GSI had employed about 300 people who handled two million calls annually at the Brunswick center. Company officials say they expect to add more workers to the payroll now that the center is open.
