McDUFFIE CTY., Ga. -- According to the McDuffie Regional Medical Center, they are laying off 21 employees to help reduce recent financial losses.
Sandra McVicker, Chief Executive Officer, says over $900,000 has been taken from reserve since October and this move is an attempt reduce these losses.
Approximately 21 employees are being laid off and the remaining employees will be taking a pay cut. Hourly employees will be taking a reduction in hours, four hours every two weeks. Exempt employees will be taking a 5 percent pay cut. The pay cuts will affect approximately 150 people.
The reduction will affect a majority of the departments at the facility.
