(AUGUSTA, GA) - If you aren't looking for a job, chances are you know someone who is. You also know finding work can be a lot of work itself, and that's why job fairs are great. They allow you to talk to a bunch of different employers in one place, and today, that one place is Augusta State University.

Today's job fair runs from 11:00 am to 3:00 this afternoon. Just drop by Christenberry Fieldhouse on campus. Some of the companies represented are: Comcast, The Augustan, Kelly Services, USDA Forest, LifeSkills for Women, ViaSalus, Bankers Life & Casualty Co, US Army, Amerilife Health Services of Augusta, Rapier Solutions, Inc., AFLAC, The Salvation Army of Augusta Kroc Center, Rural Sourcing, Inc., Michael's School of Beauty, East Central Regional Hospital, FPL Foods, Fairway Ford, Kellogg's Augusta Bakery, Solo Cup, Shepeard Blood Community Center, The Augusta Chronicle, Pro Resources, and ResCare of Georgia.

Before you head over there, I have some advice. I've talked with a few people who make hiring decisions in our community, and they are shocked at the number of people who come to interviews or job fairs "looking like they just rolled out of bed." (Those are their words, not mine.) They also tell me those people do not get the job. I promised them I would remind you of that.

It's an old cliche, but it's true. "You never get a second chance to make a first impression."
