SunTrust Bank to cut jobs

ATLANTA, Ga.---SunTrust Banks, Inc. says it will cut about 2,400 jobs by the end of next year.

The Atlanta-based company says the positions do not involve customer contact.

The company says the job cuts are part of several initiatives meant to save on costs and improve value for SunTrust shareholders.
