COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- South Carolina's financial oversight board is expected to approve using $65 million in federal stimulus cash for a 250-worker diesel engine plant in Aiken run by MTU Detroit Diesel.

The company announced the facility in March. The state Budget and Control Board on Monday plans to discuss using federal American Recovery and Reinvestment Act-backed bonds for tooling and equipment at the Sage Mill Industrial Park in Graniteville.

The Tognum Group is MTU's parent company and said in March it planned to invest $45 million and create 250 jobs during the next four years. Tognum is based in Germany.
