Walmart to hire 22,000 over the next year

According to Walmart’s web site, they intend to create more than 22,000 jobs in 2009 and 1,000 of those are slated for South Carolina. The staffing will be for new or expanded stores in positions such as store management, pharmacists, human resource managers, customer service associates, and cashiers.
Recently, Walmart began remodeling some of the 3,600 stores in the U.S. Around 300 were completed recently and the plan is to upgrade 600 more this year.
