AUGUSTA, Ga. --- Like many Americans, Dia Hill is looking for work.
"If you're looking for a job, be proactive. It's not going to come to you, you have to go get it," Dia Hill said.
And that's why she came to Augusta Staffing Associates. They help companies find top-notch talent. They also help people like Dia get jobs at companies that wouldn't normally post an ad for a job opening.
"Just because you hear there's a recession doesn't click in somebody's head, "oh okay, well I'm going to join the masses and start laying off too". There's still people that are bringing on staff to operate in the business procedures," Robert Kelly said.
But before you go in to a staffing agency, you need to have your resume ready to go.
"With the economy, the most secure jobs are not really secure now, so it's always good to have one on hand just in case," Resume Writer, Amanda Hong said.
Augusta Staffing says back in December, 200-300 people were coming in once a week looking for work. Now they're seeing 400 new faces a week.
Augusta Staffing says the main fields that are hiring right now are medical, accounting, customer service, and sales, but when it comes to landing that job, they say it's about having a positive attitude from the moment you walk in the door.
"In this market you're competing against 100 other qualified people that have the same skill set as you, going for the same job, so attitude is what's really going to sell you," Kelly said.
