40 companies come out for Paine College job fair

News 12 First at Five / Tuesday, March 22, 2011

AUGUSTA, Ga.---Paine College held their annual job fair Tuesday. 40 different companies came out looking to snag a few good workers.

Savannah River Remediation, Georgia Health Sciences University, and Shepeard Community Blood Center were just some of the places represented. The four-hour event was open to all students. School leaders say they worked overtime to get the word out.

"We've been tweeting," said Deloris Croom, director of career services. "We've been Facebooking with our students [about the event]."

"I'm very pleased that they are looking out for me. Google doesn't work all the time," said graduating senior Erica Deas. "To actually be here and talk to the people and shake hands...to build that instant rapport helps a lot."

News 12 was happy to participate as one of the 40 different employers in attendance.
