GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) — Greenville County Council has approved incentives and property tax breaks for companies considering locations in Greenville County.

The Greenville News reports documents filed with the council show three firms are considering coming to the county, bringing up to 2,000 jobs and $172 million in investments.

The documents refer to the companies by their code names only -- Wrigley, Lotus and Gem -- and provide few details.

Council Chairman Butch Kirven told the newspaper that the county hopes to have news from the companies by the end of the year.
