Malaysian company to set up shop in old Waynesboro plant

December 2, 2008

WAYNESBORO, Ga.---A former Burke County plant may see some new life.

The state is awarding a $480,000 grant to Malaysian copper products manufacturer ASTA. That company will make a copper product in the former Kwikset and Fleetguard plant on the Waynesboro North Bypass.

Developers hope this will bring 100 new jobs in two years to Burke County.
