AUGUSTA, Ga.---Many say the best deals in the business world are made on the golf course. The annual Red Carpet tour rolled through town on Thursday.
It is one section that is easy to miss at Augusta National. The Red Carpet tour sign is tucked away in an inconspicuous corner near the course.
"It is phenomenal. I'm like a kid in a candy store," said Tim Rash who is president of A-D Technologies about the course.
Business executives like Tim are brought to the course to tee up possible business deals.
"Other states have tried to copy us," said Chris Clark who is president of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce. "But they end up loading people on planes and taking them to other countries. In Georgia...we are able to take them to a beautiful place like Augusta National."
Up to 50 different companies were represented. Clark said executives were in from 3 different countries and 11 states.
"We can't go out and publicize every company that is looking at Augusta," said Augusta mayor Deke Copenhaver. "But people should know we have some good deals in the works, and it is going to lead to jobs in the future."
Don't rule out people like Tim. He confirms he recently hired workers in Georgia.
"We just hired 30 new people," said Tim. "I felt like learning more about the state."
"When our guest come in here and they see those towering pines and the rolling hills," said Clark. "They get goosebumps."
The state says the tour has created more than 15,000 jobs. This was the 52nd annual Red Carpet Tour.
