AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- With one year down and one year left to go, construction on a new Starbucks facility is on its way.

"It's an opportunity, maybe I'll get this opportunity," said Catie Hannah, who's looking for a job.

And she is already anxious about applying.

Hannah is one of many in the area ready for work and now an opportunity could be brewing.

"When it comes down to student loans and living week to week, if something happens, you don't have backup money whenever you live paycheck to paycheck," she told News 12.

But she already has two jobs, working 70 hours a week, and they still don't pay enough and lack full benefits.

So she's looking for a full-time job with full-time hours and full-time pay.

"To have a job like a warehouse job where you can get paid and have the good enough benefits, it's a very good thing to have," Hannah said.

And it's a good thing for the City of Augusta because jobs are being brought back home.

Some of those Starbucks products that would normally be made overseas will now be made in the plant being built in Augusta that will open in 2014.

It will bring more jobs and more products for people to enjoy in the area.

The facility will produce things like Starbucks Ready Brew packets and many of Starbucks ready-to-drink beverages.

And along with the products, they're wanting to make an impact on the community.

"For all these jobs that are coming in, what they're offering as far as benefits and pay, it's a good thing," she said.

And for Hannah, that means being giving a cup of opportunity for her and others.

"It's going to help boost our economy to where it needs to be for all the locals to be able to support their families and not have to live check to check," Hannah said.

The facility is expected to bring in close to 100 jobs and possibly even more.
