AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- A movie theater is coming to the Village at Riverwatch.
The Georgia Theatre Company will be opening Riverwatch 14 Cinemas in fall 2014. Construction is scheduled to begin in late 2013.
The theater will have 14 auditoriums, each with stadium seating, wide-arc screens, Dolby digital stereo sound and digital projection. It will also have four-story-high, Georgia Theatre Xtreme (GTX) auditoriums equipped with Dolby® 7.1 Surround Sound, 3D Digital Cinema technology and luxurious, high-backed rocking chairs, according to a news release.
In-theater dining will be available in multiple auditoriums. The theater complex will also have a full-service restaurant and party room for special events.
A Georgia Theatre Company employee says hiring will begin after the theater is built.
Cabela's announced it was coming to the Village at Riverwatch on Thursday. Cabela's will be opening in spring 2014.
The MGHerring Group is managing the development.
“The addition of Cabela's Outpost and Riverwatch 14 Cinemas to our already open Costco strengthens Village at Riverwatch as the regional destination for future retailers, restaurants, entertainment, hotels, and other uses to open as part of our project,” said Gar Herring, president and CEO of The MGHerring Group, in a news release.
The Village at Riverwatch is at the intersection of River Watch Parkway and I-20. Costco opened there in November 2011.
