AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- The Georgia Department of Labor announced that metro Augusta's unemployment rate decreased to 9.1 percent in July, which is down 2 percentage points from 9.3 percent in June. The rate was 9.6 percent in July of 2012.
Also from the Georgia Department of Labor, the unemployment rate in the Central Savannah River Area increased to 10.5 percent in July, which is up one and one-tenths of a percentage point from10.4 percent in June. The rate was 10.7 percent in July a year ago.
Georgia's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for July was 8.8 percent, up from 8.5 percent in June. The rate was 9.1 percent in July a year ago.
