Morning Money Matters: Kids eat free at IHOP for Back to School promotion

Wednesday, August 4, 2010 / News 12 This Morning

Back to school time can be expensive. According to the National Retail Federation, the average family spends $606.40 getting ready for the upcoming school year. That money included things like clothes, shoes, supplies, and electronics. With this number in mind, IHOP wants to help.

For the whole month of August, the restaurant is letting your kids eat free. All kids ages 12 and younger can pick something off the "Just for Kids" menu with the purchase of an adult entree. Dinner hours are from 4:00 to 10:00 pm. You don't need a coupon; all you have to do is show up.

Ok, so maybe it doesn't answer your "when am I going to find the time or money to buy everything on the school supply list" question. But, at least it could help you with the "Hey Mom, what's for dinner?" one.
