Chances are, if you are not looking for a job, you know someone who his. It's tough out there, but it seems to be a lot tougher for those without a college degree.
According to an article with the Orlando Sentinel, unemployment among people with bachelor's degrees is at 4.4 percent. The national rate is around 9 percent. That's a pretty big difference, but listen to this: the unemployment rate for those who dropped out of high school is about 15 percent. That's an even bigger difference.
Obviously, a degree can't protect you from a pink slip all the time, but it can be some sort of shield in this tough economy. It's something to think about, especially if you've always thought about going to school. Now might be a good time to do it.
