Morning Money Matters: Dial2Do

Wednesday, August 11, 2010; News 12 This Morning

It's not just dangerous to text and drive. In Georgia, it's against the law, but a company says it has a safe and legal way for you to get and send messages. And it's pretty cheap too.

Dial2Do is a service that allows you to talk your texts or emails out loud. All you have to do is speak the words you want to send, and they're sent. Dial2Do will also read your texts and emails to you, so you don't have to take your hands off the wheel.

It works with any phone, and really, it's not that expensive. You get to try it for 30 days for free.
After that, it's $3.99 a month. That's cheaper than lunch at a fast food joint. You could also opt to pay $39.99 a year.

Obviously, the safest way to drive is not to use your phone at all, but distractions come in many forms.
Eating, listening to music, and talking to other passengers can also prove dangerous. So, whatever you're doing, please pay attention to the road. We cover way too many accidents here at News 12. Trust me. We'd love to never cover another one again.
