Augusta, Ga--The Augusta RiverHawks, a proud member of the Southern Professional Hockey League, announced that Coach Brad Ralph will be returning to lead the club for the third season. Ralph and the team agreed to terms for the 2012-13 season Friday afternoon.

"We are extremely pleased that Brad will be returning for another season in Augusta," said RiverHawks' President Mark Richards. "In two short seasons he has proven himself as one of the very best coaches in the SPHL and is a great ambassador for our program. We look forward to continuing to build a winning tradition here in the CSRA with Brad behind the bench."

In two seasons with the RiverHawks, Ralph has led his club to 71 wins, compared with just 34 losses and seven overtime losses. At the end of the 2010-11 season, his rookie year as a head coach, Ralph was awarded the prestigious SPHL Coach of the Year award. That season the RiverHawks finished second in during the regular season, and the team marched all the way to the President's Cup Finals before ultimately falling to the Mississippi Surge.

Ralph led the 2011-12 edition of the RiverHawks to a record-breaking regular season, setting the SPHL all-time mark for the highest winning percentage, and winning the Coffey Trophy as the regular season champions. The remarkable run was highlighted by the RiverHawks dropping just three games at home in regulation. The RiverHawks were upset in the playoffs by the Huntsville Havoc.
