Evans, Ga--Hard to believe, but the start of the college baseball season is just around the corner. Look for the Gamecocks to again be a player on the national scene. And look for former Greenbrier standout Nolan Belcher to play a role in their success on the mound.

Belcher is nearly two years removed from major elbow surgery and is ready to do whatever it takes. Heck, last year he did just that...From being a spot starter, to middle releif and even a closer. Belcher knows it could be the same this year and just wants to go out and prove his worth.

"I've done a lot of different things since I've been there" said Nolan Belcher "I've actually done it all, started mid-week, started weekend, been middle relief and closed a few games, so I'm excited to see what's going to happen this spring. We're gong to have another good team and I'm excited going into the season. I had a good fall numbers wise so I'm excited to get a lot of opportunities this spring."

Belcher had a solid season last year with a 4 and 2 record in 19 games. His earned run average was just 2.12 so it looks like he's regained the former that led him to Columbia in the first place.
