Augusta, GA-The Augusta RiverHawks professional hockey club is pleased to release its schedule for the 2012-13 Southern Professional Hockey League season. The RiverHawks will start the season on the road for the first time in franchise history, not playing their first home game until Friday, November 2nd against the Fayetteville FireAntz. The RiverHawks play their first road game of the season Friday, October 26th against the Mississippi RiverKings.

The schedule features a total of 56 regular-season games, including 28 home games. The schedule is unbalanced in order to optimize the travel schedules for each team based on geographic location.

Notable home dates for RiverHawks fans include:

Opening Night, November 2, will feature the first-ever championship banner-raising by a hockey team in Augusta as the 2011-12 Coffey Trophy banner is hoisted to the rafters of the James Brown Arena.

The RiverHawks have their first chance for redemption against the Huntsville Havoc, the team that knocked them out of the 2011-12 playoffs, Saturday, November 3rd.

New RiverHawks Head Coach Rob Miller will face his former team, the fierce RiverHawks' rival Knoxville Ice Bears, for the first time on Thursday, November 8th.

The first game of this season's Peach Cup Challenge will take place Thursday, December 8th as the RiverHawks play the defending SPHL President's Cup Champion Columbus Cottonmouths.
