AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- News 12 has received a statement from the Georgia Department of Labor about sequestration's possible effects on Extended Unemployment Compensation.
"The Georgia Department of Labor has received no specific details from the U.S. Department of Labor stipulating how much or when possible reductions to Extended Unemployment Compensation would occur, as a result of sequestration.
'We're waiting for the federal government to provide the information we must have in order to financially plan how to best serve the people of Georgia under these circumstances, just as our Georgia businesses need Washington to make a decision, so they can make their financial plans for the future,' said State Labor Commissioner Mark Butler. 'It's very frustrating.'
Once the Georgia Department of Labor receives the necessary information, those who will be affected and the general public will be notified."
