Arrests made in North Augusta golf cart thefts

NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. (WRDW) -- Two people have been arrested by North Augusta Public Safety for allegedly stealing golf carts in Hammonds Ferry last month.

Dontrell Lamar Washington Allison, 21, and Dytron Kerome Hunter, 22, have been charged with grand larceny and were taken to the Aiken County Detention Center.

The first golf cart was reported missing Jan. 8 around 6:30 a.m. at a home on Railroad Avenue. The homeowner says the key was not left inside. The Club Car golf cart's worth is estimated at $4,800.

The second golf cart was reported missing around 11:30 a.m. on the same day from Manuel's Bread Cafe on Railroad Avenue. A man was caught on surveillance came taking an E-Z-Go golf cart worth $2,000 from the restaurant. The keys were said to be left inside.
