UPDATE: Name released of person killed in Aiken Co. accident

AIKEN COUNTY, S.C. (WRDW) -- News 12 has just learned the name of the person who was killed in a motorcycle accident Tuesday night.
Coroner Tim Carlton confirmed that 51-year-old Berry Playford of Augusta was pronounced dead at the Georgia Regents University Emergency Department at 10:10 p.m. Carlton says he died of multiple body trauma.
Edward Roland of Hephzibah was driving a 2011 Dodge Charger on Old Aiken Road when he allegedly disregarded the traffic signal at the intersection of Highway 1 and Old Aiken Road, striking the motorcycle.
Officials say Roland was uninjured. The crash happened at 6:40 p.m.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. Toxicology is pending.
