AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- A fatal motorcycle accident blocked the westbound lanes of Calhoun Expressway on Saturday afternoon.

Deputies say 39-year-old Sherry A. Topton was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials say she was going too fast around the curve, which is when she lost control. They confirmed the motorcycle was the only vehicle involved in the accident and that no one else was hurt.

No autopsy will be performed.
