AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Richmond County deputies say one person is dead after an accident Friday night involving a motorcycle.

The single-vehicle accident happened at Gordon Highway and Peach Orchard Road in Augusta around 11:08 p.m.

The victim has been identified as 26-year-old Pierre D. Thompkins of Augusta.

He died at GHSU of multiple blunt force trauma.
