AUGUSTA, Ga. -- A man and woman charged with child cruelty were both granted bond Friday.
The bond for both Aileen Wright and Nick Womack was set at $20,000 a piece.
Their 5-month-old was found dead in what was called deplorable conditions in their mobile home off Gordon Highway last month. Nicholas Jr. was found in his playpen with animal bite marks all over his body.
"There were roaches on the refrigerator, in the refrigerator, in the bedrooms," said Richmond County Sgt. Dan Carrier in April.
Investigators say trash bags lined the halls, dishes littered the bathtub and there were grease and roaches in the sink.
Wright and Womack are charged with four counts of deprivation of a minor and cruelty of a child in the second degree.
