AUGUSTA, Ga. -- The names of two people who were killed in an accident on Bobby Jones Expressway have been released.

Marcus A. Hyder, 27, and Kyle B. Davis, 27, were pronounced dead at the scene by Deputy Coroner Johnny McDonald at 1:58 p.m. Thursday. Both died from blunt force trauma.

Hyder, Davis and 48-year-old Matt Taylor had pulled into the emergency lane to adjust furniture in the back of a pickup near Gordon Highway.

That's when deputies say 61-year-old Lydia Martin drifted off the road and hit them. Investigators say she may have fallen asleep behind the wheel and is charged with two counts of second-degree vehicular homicide and one count of failure to maintain lane.

Taylor was injured and taken to the hospital. He is said to be in critical condition.
