Usually when you hear "high" and "taxes" in the same sentence, it's not a good thing, but this time, it is.

The folks at Kiplinger have crunched the numbers, and they say both Georgia and South Carolina are at the top of the list for the best states when it comes to taxes. They put together three lists: "the good," "the bad" and "the ugly."

Top 10 Friendly Tax States: Alaska, Alabama, Delaware, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, PA, South Carolina, Wyoming

Top 10 Least Friendly Tax States: California, Connecticut, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont

Top 5 States with the Highest Income Tax: California, Iowa, Oregon, New Jersey, New York, Vermont

Experts compared each state's sales tax, income tax, Social Security tax and property tax rates to get these lists.
