4 employees accused of stealing over $24,000 worth of bricks from workplace

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- Investigators say four employees of Georgia Oxide stole 375 bricks from their workplace and sold the metal to local recycling centers.
The bricks are valued over $24,000 and make up 20,723 pounds of lead.
Plant Manager Eddie Whitehead, 46, was charged with one felony count of theft by taking.
Employee Antoine Crawford, 28, was charged with six counts of felony theft by taking.
Employee Jeremy Robertson, 33, was charged with two felony counts of theft by taking. Robertson worked at the plant for 10 years.
Employee Wright, 42, was charged with one misdemeanor count of theft by taking.
Campbell's Recycling Center and Augusta Steel and Metal assisted the Richmond County Sheriff's Office in the investigation.
