AIKEN, S.C.-- An Aiken man is behind bars after a six-hour standoff.

Officers arrested 52-year-old John Callahan on Saturday.

Officers responded to the 400 block of Williamsburg Street after getting calls of shots fired.

When they got there, deputies say Callahan ran back into his home.

That's when officers made a perimeter around the house, and the standoff began.

Six hours later, deputies say they entered his house and took him into custody peacefully.

He's currently in the Aiken County Detention Center, charged with discharging a firearm within city limits.
