COLUMBIA COUNTY, Ga. -- A man is in custody after allegedly holding his ex-girlfriend at gunpoint.
Investigators say 42-year-old John Maynard kidnapped the 44-year-old woman from her Columbia County home at gunpoint around 5 a.m. Friday.
Then, Maynard allegedly made her withdraw $1,750 from the Burger King on Washington Road where she works.
Investigators say he then ordered her to drive to the Georgia Bank and Trust in Martinez and withdraw $360. The victim was then dropped off in Columbia County. No one was harmed in the incidents.
Maynard is facing armed robbery, kidnapping and weapons charges. He was arrested on Friday at 11:45 a.m. in Richmond County.
Both the Columbia County Sheriff's Office and the Richmond County Sheriff's Office are involved in the investigation.
