MARTINEZ, Ga. -- An exploding pack of dye helped cops catch a man after he tried to rob a bank on Saturday.

Deputies say the robbery happened just after 9 a.m. at the Wells Fargo on Furys Ferry Road.

Moments later, Columbia County officials arrested 31-year-old Andrew Gareth Nelson of Davant Street in Martinez.

He was caught on a nearby road after a dye pack exploded.

Nelson has been charged with armed robbery with no bond.

Deputies say all of the money and a handgun was recovered.
