Augusta commissioners pass motion to rename bridge for Lt. Gen. Robert Gray
Augusta commissioners passed a motion to rename the bridge at 5th and 7th in honor of Lt. General Robert Gray.

AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Augusta commissioners passed a motion to rename the bridge at 5th and 7th streets in honor of Lt. General Robert Gray.

He was the former commander of Fort Gordon and then retired in 1997.

Last month, Gray died in an accident in Millen.

He will be buried in Arlington National Cemetery in February.
