WRDW-TV News 12, the CBS Affiliate serving Augusta, GA, has a rare opening for a sports anchor/reporter. This is the place for you if you love to cover professional, college and high school sports. News 12 is committed to local and state sports coverage. We cover the Georgia Bulldogs, South Carolina Gamecocks, Atlanta Braves, Atlanta Falcons, local colleges and high schools and local minor league teams. Each spring our Sports Department shines in the spotlight while covering The Masters Golf Tournament. You are on the course each day of the tournament shooting highlights and conducting interviews with golf's greatest players.
This position requires reporting and journalism skills, good news judgment and the ability to edit on a non-linear system (Avid Newscutter and Instinct). Candidates should be strong storytellers who can produce stories live on-air and on-line and enterprise stories of local interest. Position requires daily reporting, shooting, writing and editing stories. College degree required. Some reporting/anchoring experience is preferred. Must demonstrate organization and leadership.
