James Brown Auction raises over $850,000 Save Email Print

NEW YORK, N.Y.--- James Brown's personal items raised $857,688 at Christie's Auction house in New York yesterday.

According to the auction house, buyers purchased 317 of the 329 lots offered.

Among these lots were top selling items like the singer's medical ID bracelet, living room furniture, and stage-worn capes and instruments.

Paul Shaffer, bandleader for the Late Show with David Letterman, purchased the late singers blue-sequined cape.
