AIKEN, S.C. (AP) -- A judge handling the estate of James Brown has ordered a paternity test for the son of a woman who claims to be the late soul singer's widow.

Judge Jack Early says that the DNA test on James Brown II should be completed within 30 days.

The ruling today in Aiken is the latest in the long-running fight over Brown's estate.

Trustees handling it had questioned the claims of Tomi Rae Hynie that her son is Brown's child. Early also ruled that some items from Brown's estate should not be auctioned until it's determined whether they really belonged to
Hynie.
